{ REAL MOUNTAIN WEDDING } Meghan + Travis at Sapphire Point Overlook near Keystone, Colorado

Meghan and Travis were married at a rocky outcrop that you can see from across the lake looking east as you come around on highway 9 heading south towards Breckenridge.  I never really looked for it before, but noticed it right away when I focused on it.  It's a steep overlook that has views that drop away at your feet and lay out the Ten Mile and Gore ranges before you.  It's no wonder why so many folks choose to have their sacred moment here and not inside somewhere.

Kay writes on her blog... "I always love Sapphire Point Weddings! Maybe because you can always guarantee amazing views - maybe because the Dillon Ranger District limits guests to 35 people. Maybe because I happened upon Christa and Cole's elopement there 4 years ago on a magical December afternoon. Maybe because brides getting married at Sapphire Point must be outdoorsy and willing to brave the elements, no matter what time of year!"

"My own wedding was scheduled there 15 years ago, but we moved inside at the last minute to accomodate both of Kirk's grandmas and the 6 inches of new snow! We did get to Sapphire Point for the toast after the ceremony. And since then I have photographed dozens of weddings there and many, many portrait sesssions."

"I love this photo and this 'moment in time' that I caught while Travis was waiting at the overlook and ceremony spot for his beautiful bride, Meghan. I was 30 feet away, and could see her walking down, but he was out of sight... he kept leaning to see if he could catch a peek... LOVE this moment when the groom sees his bride for the first time, and Travis didn't disappoint me!"

Ask us how to help you plan all the details for your mountain wedding, including using Sapphire Point as an outdoor winter wedding ceremony location.  Yes, that's right, go for it.  It could be a blizzard, or it could be the most beautiful blue skies you've ever seen on a winter day.  You never know, but you'll have your closest friends and family with you.  Or not.  We love when it's a super small, intimate event that is not a huge ordeal.  Those events tend to be more flexible and can adjust on the fly

If you look across the valley in the photo above, you'll notice a nice patch of yellow Aspen trees on the lower slopes of Peak one.  Check back for more real weddings, go to our forum to ask questions, or contact us today to start getting things done!
