{ REAL MOUNTAIN WEDDING } Cara + Heman at Ten Mile Station in Breckenridge, Colorado
At the base of Peak 10's Falcon Lift, on Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Peak 9, sits the stunningly elegant, yet rustic, Ten Mile Station, where Cara and Heman (say Hay-men) invited 200 of their closest friends and family to be part of their once in a lifetime wedding ceremony and reception in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
In late July, the mountainsides were alive with wildflowers and the well-manicured perennial gardens were blooming with royal blue Lupine, rare, red Columbines and Delphinium.
Cara and Heman’s photographer, Becky Young , captured all the details of their stunning day perfectly. Her style is described as "joyful and modern mountain photography." She specializes in documentary style wedding photography throughout Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. Her attention to detail, use of natural light and the majestic surroundings do not go unnoticed, these photos are amazing!
Breckenridge’s own Petal and Bean created Cara’s bright Gerber Daisy bridal bouquet along with the groomsmen’s boutonnieres and the bridesmaid’s bouquets. Petal and Bean has been in the wedding flower business since 1994 and has worked with hundreds of brides creating the perfect wedding flowers and event decor for their special day.
Keeping with her mountain spirit, Cara spent a good part of her day walking around in her sandals under her gorgeous, strapless wedding gown as you can see here with their cute dog and her bridesmaids riding the lift.
Ten Mile Station is located at 10,234 feet above the Blue River Valley and the quaint Victorian town of Breckenridge on the Slopes of the Breckenridge Ski Area, where it can rain or snow at any time of the year. However, Cara and Heman were blessed with a glorious blue skies and giant cottony clouds as their backdrop and they didn’t need the umbrellas after all, but they are a good thing to have on hand just in case. Colorado is typically known for afternoon showers in the summer.
After their beautiful ceremony out on the enormous deck, the staff at Ten Mile Station served an elegant sit down dinner to all their closest friends and family . Following dinner and several rounds of toasts to the happy couple, Heman, Cara and their guests satisfied their sweet tooths with dark devil’s food, vanilla and red velvet cupcakes.
They danced all night until the skies filled with stars and had the perfect day. Cara and Heman’s wedding is definitely one that will not soon be forgotten by anyone who was lucky enough to be there.
