{ REAL MOUNTAIN WEDDING } Aly + Matt at Sevens in Breckenridge, Colorado

Looks like Alyson and Matt rolled nothing but lucky seven’s when they chose the intimate and elegant Seven’s Restaurant for their 2011 late summer wedding ceremony and reception!  Seven’s, operated by Vail Resorts / Breckenridge Hospitality is located in the new Grand Lodge at Peak 7, an offering from Breckenridge Grand Vacations, lies at the base of Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Peak 7 at 10,010 feet in the Ten Mile Range of Summit County, Colorado.

If you are keeping your list is less than 120 guests, this venue is the perfect choice anytime of year.  With over 300 days of sunshine and 300” of snow a year, there isn’t  really an ugly day on the calendar in the charming town of Breckenridge. The mountains and vast panoramic views take center stage.

Alyson and Matt got super lucky again when it came to the glorious blue skies and just a handful of clouds that happened to pass by for their ceremony.  (Make  sure you have a back up plan for inclement weather as rain is pretty common every afternoon in the high country in the summer.)

Sophisticated, elegant, classic and stunning are the words that come to mind when I was looking through the hundreds of beautiful photos by photographer Rachel Olsen //     Facebook       Twitter        Website

Rachel says "My goal is to be welcomed into your moments, your world and your lives, in order to create photographs that represent the real you. I strive to capture the emotions, interactions and energy shared between individuals, so that when you look at your images you feel as if they are not only pictures, but are impressions of the feelings and moments you share together.'"

Setting the mood in the warm mountain air were the classical trio that played during the ceremony and cocktail hour on the patio and the ultra sleek and modern floral table arrangements by Breckenridge’s own Petal and Bean florists who also hand made the bouquets and boutonnières.

Alyson, Matt and all of their lucky guests were treated to a wedding that won’t soon be forgotten.  The attention to details weren’t over looked either… from the silver ink handwritten name cards, to the pale shades of yellow and orange piped buttercream frosting on the cupcakes.

With a very clean and serene color scheme of grays and blues, Aly and Matt’s wedding took on a very sophisticated feel.  It wasn’t over done, and as they say, sometimes less is more.  Alyson was simply breathtaking in her strapless gown and her long blond hair gently curled and pulled back.

Looking back on her day Alyson said “I really enjoyed having a moment alone  (with her soon to be husband, Matt) before actually getting married.  It made it much more special in the long run.” She also said that in hind sight she wished that she would have prepared her older, out of town guests for the effects of the high altitude. She said “It was very difficult for me to watch my dad struggle with crappy nights of sleep and breathing difficulties.’

Her best advice to couples about to tie the knot: “ SMILE!!!!!  Be happy cause who cares what goes wrong?   It's just a wedding and if you're happy then everyone else will be.  I took a shot of whiskey before leaving the house where I got ready because I knew this was going to be the best day of my life and I wanted to be super relaxed and enjoy it.....and I was and did.  Who couldn't LOVE getting married in the mountains???”
