{ Real Mountain Wedding } Ashley + Marc married on the shore of Lake Dillon. Reception at the Silverthorne Pavilion.

I'll let you in on a secret.  Lake Dillon isn't really a lake.  It's actually a reservoir, containing the drainages of three streams.  The Snake comes from Keystone, the Blue comes from Breckenridge, and Ten Mile Creek travels from Copper Mountain.  Buildings were moved, houses were relocated, and the area that is filled with water is what you see.

You can kayak on this lake, mountain bike and trail run on the trails near the edge or even take a water taxi or create a pontoon parade like we did.

Longtime Breckenridge local Gretchen Abernathy has married countless numbers of couples over the years in the various venues and outside wedding ceremony locations in Summit County.

"Ashley & Marc are old friends from college – Ashley & I met singing in an acappella group!  Their wedding was on a gorgeous fall day overlooking Lake Dillon in Silverthorne, and I was so, so excited to be there.  Not only did I get to watch my beautiful friend walk down the aisle to marry a kind, handsome man, I also got to reconnect with some long-lost college friends :)  The weather was perfect, the whole day was so relaxed, and I was thrilled to be a part of it." 

The Silverthorne Pavillion was the decorated using a DIY effort, which turned out great.  Candles, and a few Aspen branches were just the right touch.
