[Mountain Town] A Photoblog Tour of Breckenridge, Colorado
The land where the blue river rises is called Breckenridge now. It's an attractive small mountain town just west of Denver, and is accessible via the Denver International Airport, which makes this gem a real consideration for couples and families planning a destination wedding in the Rocky Mountains.
We have helped guys arrange for the horses to be waiting at the base of the gondola, and we can help arrange for them to transport you through town between venues or lodging choices. The Breckenridge Stables offers local tours from the Blue River Plaza, near the Breckenridge Resort Chamber's Welcome Center.
The Edwin Carter Museum is filled with local natural history. And, if you take a look, could be a nice backdrop for a photo shoot. Click here to learn more about the offerings from the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance!

In the heart of Breckenridge, just across the street from the barn is the Local Market. A great selection of beers and wine can be found in the back. If you need help with your grocery shopping, or other details, please contact us to make your life easier. We can have cold, Colorado craft beers waiting for you. All you have to do is ask.

Many shops, restaurants, galleries and museums fill the historic downtown area of Breckenridge. Plan on spending a few hours poking around the different shops and talking to the locals. You can gain a lot of knowledge quickly by talking to folks in the know.
Off-the-beaten path locations can be found with our expert advice. Engagement shoots can be an adventure-filled day with activities like cross country skiing, dog sledding, snowmobiling, and of course, skiing and snowboarding. Not all photographers are equal on-mountain, so be sure to ask if your photographer can slide and shoot, and if they don't, then just contact us to recommend some that do.
I put this photo of Allaire Timbers on our venues board on Pinterest, and it was very popular! Lots of brides and grooms are looking for bed and breakfast, lodges and smaller venues that can be used for both lodging, ceremony and wedding reception.

Several properties are managed by Great Western Lodging, so give them a ring, let them know you found'em on this blog, and see what they can do for your gathering.
On the south end of town is Engine 9, the railroad engine equipped with an attachment on the front to churn up the snow-choked passes in the winter. The Stephen C. West Ice Arena is located next to the Snowplow Rotary Park.
Many local restaurants are great options for rehearsal dinner locations, including the Hearthstone Restaurant. There is a great view from the table near the bar upstairs, and if you want to reserve it for a group, then give them a ring and you'll get the table in the big windows in the top right of the image above.

A great photo shoot location, Boreas Pass road has a great panoramic view of the Ten Mile Range and the Breckenridge Ski Resort. A ten minute walk will get you to this view.
The last image here is of the Lodge and Spa at Breckenridge, which sits at almost 10,200 feet. It has a great deck for outside wedding ceremonies. Ask for Rhonda, and tell her you saw the lodge on this blog! Thanks for checking us out and if you think these photos are cool, just wait 'til you see what we can do for your wedding!
