{real Mountain Wedding} Amber + Justin at Warren Station in Keystone, Colorado

When watching the tweets fly around one day, I saw this Keystone, Colorado wedding from photographer Autumn Lee of Dash Photography  and I just had to share it with you all.  You see, there are lots of different ways to dress up and celebrate your day, so here's today's version.  A bold and beautiful red, white and black color palette was used throughout the event.

Branding your event is a fun way to carry the theme of your wedding experience.  Let's first take a look at some of the details of the wedding, which are best captured before the wedding, as all the various pieces come together.

In the image above  the groom is seen wearing an all-white suit, in contrast to his groomsmen, making him stand out from the other fellas.  See more photos from this wedding on the blog for Dash Photography.  It looks like it was a fun night, and we're thankful that the couple and photographer wanted to share these with you.  Check out Autumn's social feeds through the links below.  Looks like she's huge on Pinterest with over 1,000 followers over there.  We like Pinterest too.

The wedding ceremony was near the Snake River and was held outside in the Quaking Aspen Amphitheatre.  The reception was inside Warren Station.

I like to hear the stories from the day, and to share any feedback or lessons learned, so here's what the bride had to say.

Q. Any funny or memorable moments from your wedding?

A. Well we did have a couple memorable moments throughout the week of our wedding. One of my bridesmaid got the wrong dress! It really was not a big deal and the dress was pretty and matched the other dresses just fine. The funny part about the mistake is that some close friends said "wow, you handled that really well, if I were you I would have freaked out!". Another very memorable moment was that my husband lost his wallet full of cash the night of his bachelor party. He called me the next morning in horrible regret of how drunk he had gotten.

Q.  Why the mountains?  What resources did you get inspiration or help from?

A.  My husband and I really love snowboarding and we enjoy the mountains and the laid back atmosphere it provides. To add a personal touch we labeled each table in our reception hall as a mountain we had boarded at (Vail, aspen, keystone, Breckenridge, copper, monarch, etc.). It was really cute. I got my inspiration from everywhere, I did not have just one or two resources. I also got a lot of ideas from oriental trader. I made a lot of our decorations and I got a lot of great ideas from oriental traders.

Q.  Any “hindsight 20/20″ advice you have for couples?

A. The whole week of my wedding I felt I was walking on clouds and my maid of honor had to really keep me on track to stay on our schedule. If I could give one tip of advice for future brides it would be to concentrate on completely enjoying the week of your wedding and it only happens once. It is hard enough to remember this week in your life so you want to soak up as many memorable moments as you can. It is really easy to get caught up in all the little details you want to get done but you have to delegate your to do list and just enjoy being the bride.  Throughout the week I felt as though nothing could touch me, nothing could rain on my parade. I think it was that mindset that kept anything from invading my joyous week.

And then, some questions that I sent to the photographer, Autumn Dash.  Here's what she had to say.

Q. What tips / advice would you give to a couple considering a destination wedding in Keystone or Summit County?

A. If you are doing a destination wedding-really make sure you make it easy and friendly for your guests...remember they are having to come from out of town as well. I don't suggest breaking up your ceremony and reception into 2 separate parts of the day because your guests may not have anywhere to go for 2-3 hours while you are "breaking".  If you are coming up to the mountains, really enjoy your stay and get into the relax mode that most of us have up here-go with the flow!

Q. What are some fun ideas for engagement photos shoots in the mountains?

A. I am a big believer in making your engagement photos about you. Doing something together tat showcases you as a couple is always great. If you are big skiers, maybe a shoot around a ski lift would be fun. If you guys are avid readers, set up a picnic and scatter books around. Anything that you can do to bring "you" into it always makes for a great engagement session.

Q. What kinds of questions would you recommend the bride and groom ask their potential photographers?

A. What is your shooting style, how do you direct the day, how long is the turn around time for getting my photos and products. Most magazines and blogs will tell you to ask all the "business style questions-insurance, back ups etc" but if you are a professional, these are no brainers, already covered and in the contract. You want to make sure you connect with your photographer on a personal level-you will be spending the whole day with them :)

 Q. What's the best way to work with wedding photographers?

A. Just be our friends-we don't bite LOL

Q. Favorite part of Colorado?  Favorite Restaurant in Denver?  And, one more.  Last concert seen.

A. Being a Texas gal, I really enjoy the 4 seasons Colorado has (even though I am not a snow fan LOL). I have yet to find a good restaurant here (sorry!! But you guys have nothing on the good comfort food of home!!). Last concert seen was probaby Jamey Johnson at Red Rocks....it's been awhile :)
