Veronica + Brandon: Devil's Thumb Ranch Wedding in Tabernash, Colorado
While we know and love Summit County weddings the best (yes, we are biased), we are happy to share photos from Veronica + Brandon: Devil's Thumb Ranch Wedding in Tabernash, Colorado, with images courtesy of Elevate Photography. Yes, we have interesting names for some of these venues and I just had to look up some information about this one. Looks like we have a bit of a history lesson here.
Local lore says the Native Americans named Devil's Thumb, a rocky outcropping on the Continental Divide that towers high above the Ranch. Warring Ute and Arapahoe tribes settled their differences in the area and "buried the devil" but left his thumb exposed to remind them of the evils of war.
So, in addition to the craggy rocks in the area, there are a set of structures on site that can be used for the various events that families and friends are brought here for. Not only can you come during the summer or winter for daily activities, you can rent the space out for weddings.
The most recent addition to our facilities, the 4,200 square foot High Lonesome Barn, was painstakingly reconstructed from a Civil War-era Ohio barn and features breathtaking East-facing views of the Continental Divide and is perfectly suited for weddings of up to 350 guests.
