Today's post is all about Margaux + John: Engagement Photography at the Frog Pond Wetland Preserve in Monterey California with images courtesy of Tony Fitzgerald Photography. This one is far out west of the Rockies, but when I saw the dogs and bikes I just had to click submit. So many couples that marry in Breck are mountain bikers, road cyclists or are very active and like to explore the outdoors. And, many of those families are dog lovers.We've had many of our mountain adventures in the presence of furry friends and I can totally understand when couples choose to have them in their engagement photos and even part of their wedding. I'm glad these guys had a good day at the Frog Pond.

Engagement Photography Considerations for Bikes and Dogs

If you do decide to have an engagement shoot with your dogs, please do your due diligence and research if it's a dog-friendly location. Certain wetlands and preserves in the Breckenridge area (Cucumber Gulch) don't allow dogs. When you work with us when you choose a package, we'll help you decide where to go and that'll save you some time of figuring it all out. There are also many choices of bikes these days too. You can rent fat bikes and go on a singletrack, cruisers that you can ride around the historic downtown area, or grab some road bikes and explore the bike paths of Summit County. One classic ride would be to pedal up and over Vail Pass to Vail or push on to Beaver Creek for a longer ride. Have more questions? ALBUM STORY

Margaux and John live in Monterey, have 5 dogs and love beach walks, hiking and mountain biking. They just got engaged a little over a month ago and are just beginning the whole process of organizing a wedding.

They would like to get married outdoors, in the Monterey area, ideally somewhere with a giant oak tree and beautiful scenery. Although John thinks it's a little trendy, Margaux would like to get married in a beautiful white dress with cowboy boots - he will definitely be wearing his boots, so she thinks "why shouldn't she?"

Margaux is a freelance photographer, and a nanny. She does portraiture & food, mainly family and young children, and loves working for Edible Monterey Bay Magazine because, she says, their assignments get her out to some really fun farms. John works as a heavy equipment operator.

They chose Frog Pond Wetland Preserve in Del Rey Oaks, Monterey California for their engagement photos because of the incredible oak trees at this location, and because they wanted to bring their dogs.
