Tai + Stephen: Fall Wedding in Aspen, Colorado
First Look at the Maroon Bells
Today's post is all about Tai + Stephen: Fall Wedding in Aspen, Colorado with images courtesy of J. La Plante Photo. The Roaring Fork Valley is a classic place to visit with the iconic Maroon Bells as a favorite backdrop for couples in the area. There are then options for using traditional facilities, such as this couple did, for the reception or you can opt for a private home rental as part of the festivities for the week. Be sure to consider spending some time going up to Independence Pass and the Grottos for a few photos and some trail time.
Aspen Meadows Resort Reception
Hotels are an easy choice when it comes to reception, as they come with lots of amenities and posh options. The Aspen Meadows Resort, described as "Chic, Bauhaus-style resort with an outdoor heated saline pool" was the gathering place for family and friends to enjoy the evening. The golden leaves were shining in the sun and it looks like it was a beautiful day. But, that isn't always the case.
If no one's told you how often it rains during the summer, then let me be the first to give you fair warning. Typical afternoons have brief, yet intense, bouts of rain and clouds. Clouds make for great pics, so don't worry. Just talk it out with your team about alternatives if you need to adhere to a strict timeline. If there's some flexibility, extend cocktail hour, or just go for it with a few umbrellas being held by the maid of honor and best man.

Tai and Stephen couldn't have asked for a more perfect day for their wedding. The aspens were in full color contrasting brilliantly with the red in the peaks and Maroon Bells and the dazzlingly blue Colorado sky. With the wedding details adding a pop of purple, Tai's favorite color, the result was a vividly colorful fall wedding in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Tai and Stephen customized their ceremony and reception with lots of personal details to make the day truly their own.
From the couple: "We love puzzles so tried to include that as a theme along with the beauty of fall in Aspen. The escort cards were 12 piece puzzles with a different picture of the couple on each table. Their guest book was a custom wooden jigsaw puzzle. Stephen hand drew the ketubah that included many personal details and a custom text meaningful to the couple.
We had our first look and signed the ketubah at Maroon Bells which is Tai's favorite place in the world. We created a modified version of the Jewish seven blessings to include in our ceremony and asked seven of our friends to participate by reading the different blessings."The first dance was very memorable as we created a custom dance to the Crystals 'Then He Kissed Me.' We surprised many family and friends as they were not expecting this from two introverts. We enjoyed the super blood moon total eclipse - an occurrence that won't happen again until 2033."
