How Did You Meet? When did you know you were meant to be?

We met at work, both working for the Illinois department of Transportation. His boss set us up. We knew it was meant to be when we weren't afraid to finish a double decker pizza together ;). Kidding, when we realized our love for family and adventure was the same.

Why did you choose to elope? Why that specific location?

We wanted a wedding where we could be with our closest friends and family, and not have to worry about spending our wedding socializing and thanking everyone who came. We wanted a destination wedding, but not a cliche beach wedding. We love hiking and the mountains. We chose Colorado and then found Sapphire Point on The Knot.

What was your favorite part of the wedding day? Was it different for each of you?

My favorite part of the wedding day was the time we spent together alone getting photos taken after the ceremony but before the reception. It was nice getting that break from everyone and getting a chance to be alone for a bit as the new Mr & Mrs. His favorite part was all of the dancing we did with everyone at the reception! (Which was also pretty darn fun)!

If you could do it all over again, is there anything you would change or do differently? If so, what?

Not a thing. I felt completely stress free the entire day. With the exception of my in-laws losing their rental car keys! They were found shortly after so it didn't damper the day.

Is there any advice you would give to other couples who are considering eloping?

DO IT! You won't regret it. The only crucial person who couldn't be there was the Grooms Grandmother. We sent photos shortly after the wedding, and then made her an entire photo book of all of the wedding photos. We also included a photo memory spot at the ceremony for loved ones who couldn't be there, so that helped.
