[VENUE] Ten Mile Station on Peak 9 at the Breckenridge Ski Resort

In the wintertime, it's a mid-mountain pit stop.  During the summer, it's a destination wedding paradise. Ten Mile Station, operated by the team at the Breckenridge Ski Resort, offers a ceremony and reception venue option like no other.  Other Breckenridge wedding venues are slopeside, or futher downtown.  This venue is literally on the mountain, with guests traveling up a road past the summertime location for the Breckenridge Stables, which offers horseback rides.

Doublecheck with your vendors that all are familiar with the venue, how to find it, and any other important details that will help any vendors, suppliers or planners assist in their responsibilities.

One of the most important things that we've noticed over the years are how many times we've heard about vendors being late or lost, as they're not sure how to find the venue.  Now, this is where it gets just a bit confusing.  There is no huge sign for Ten Mile Station, and in fact, you have to access the dirt road via a parking lot at the Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center.  

Once you're on this road, you can drive up to the venue.  You don't need a 4WD vehicle to access the venue, but it might come in handy if you choose to venture further up the mountain.  You can drive to a great overlook near the Peak 9 Restaurant that gazes down onto the alpine terrain near 6 chair.

The outside ceremony deck is in a very sunny spot, and during the summertime, thunderstorms do roll in almost daily.  What time, you ask?   Oh, you know, right around late afternoon, when most couples plan their ceremony.  Talk to the site coordinator about the downstairs room, which can be used as a rainy day backup, or you can choose to do it in the main room upstairs.  Or, you just extend the cocktail hour a bit if the clouds are fast-moving, because the saying goes around here, "If you don't like the weather, just wait 15 minutes."
