[ How To ] Find Ten Mile Station on Peak 9 in Breckenridge, Colorado | Breckenridge Wedding Venue

Mountain venues are not always easy to find.  They aren't at the crossroads of say, 16th street and Main.  Sometimes, they're up maintenance roads that criss cross ski runs.  And sometimes the entrances to those roads aren't easily seen.  I'm talking about the road leading up to Ten Mile Station, specifically.

We hear from the various venue managers around Summit County that vendors have been late to weddings because of them being unfamiliar with the venue, or the map was wrong.  Not all online maps are correct.  It's always a good idea to call ahead and talk to the manager or someone familiar with the area to double check the best way to get to the venue.

From South Park Avenue, you'll turn on to Village Road, which goes past Valdoro Mountain Lodge and the new DoubleTree on your right before the turn on your left.  When you see a sign for Beaver Run on your right (just past the DoubleTree), turn left into the parking lot with the tent.  You'll also see a sign for the Breckenridge Stables.

Once you turn into the parking lot, veer to the left and look for signs that is Ten Mile Station and the Breckenridge Stables.  If you go left, you'll drive towards the Maggie and the base of the six pack (six person chairlift), the Quicksilver chair.  Don't turn left, turn right and follow the road up the ski run.

The Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center will be on your right.  The top floor of the closest building is home to the Imperial Ballroom, the most popular room for weddings.  Continue past the entrance to the Burro Trail, which is on the left, while the road climbs to the right.  The Burro Trail is a great hike and / or mountain bike which connects with the Spruce Creek drainage, with options to continue on the Wheeler Trail.

You'll pass the Beaver Run chairlift, the Rocky Mountain Superchair (which transports skiers to Peak 8), and the Falcon Chair (which services Peak 10).  When you see the Falcon chair, you'll see Ten Mile Station on your right.  Most guests are asked to park down by the Falcon chair and walk the drive up to the venue.

The Breckenridge Stables runs its summer opterations on Peak 9, and you'll pass it before reaching the Falcon chair.  Drive slow, be safe and continue past the venue and you can reach a nice overlook up by the Peak 9 Restaurant.  The road gets more rough the higher you go, so don't continue up the road without adequate clearance.  A 4WD is recommended for the higher drive, but is not necessary to reach Ten Mile Station.
