Amber + Josh: Navy Wedding After Session in Colorado
There are many reasons to have an "after session" or bridal portrait session post-wedding, including wanting more time for family and friends instead of posing for pics, or it could be simply that you weren't entirely pleased with the ones captured, as the case with the couple in today's blog, Amber + Josh: Navy Wedding After Session in Colorado, with images courtesy of Folly Photography. You can't go back and get pics from the day, but you can always schedule another photo session with a photographer like couple did, or do it for your anniversary sometime.

When my friend Amber mentioned to me (her photographer friend obsessed with weddings) that she had always been very disappointed in her original wedding photos I immediately suggested that we have a much belated post-wedding bridal portrait session. A lot of couples don’t understand the importance of choosing a high quality wedding photographer for their special day and you would be shocked how often I hear this lament! BUT, with age comes wisdom, and now that my clients know the value of quality photography the good news is that it’s never too late to have beautiful wedding photos, even if they’re not on the actual date.
Josh is active duty Navy and their family, including their three year old son, Zach, was preparing to quickly sell their home and move away from Colorado on military orders. They fell in love with the state while being stationed there so we made sure to incorporate a mountainous backdrop for some of their shots as a keepsake.
Amber just happened to also have a connection to a fabulously talented Denver dress designer, Maggie of Marie Margot Bridal Couture. With Maggie’s expert recommendations we settled on an exciting roaring 20’s Navy theme for Amber and Josh’s bridal shoot. With the styling set we brought on Denver hair and makeup artist Brittany of Alchemy Artistry and Blooms on Buckley for some fabulous flowers. You can see for yourself that the results were pure magic!
