[PHOTO SHOOT LOCATION] Burro Trail: Creekside Paths on Peak 9 at the Breckenridge Ski Resort

// Burro Trail

Sometimes when we travel up the road on peak 9 and see photographers with the bridal party getting dusted by cars visiting the nearby stables or headed up to a wedding at Ten Mile Station.  Our suggestion is that if you're having a wedding and are based out of the south end of Breckenridge, then consider heading over to the Burro trail.  This trail extends south to connect with the Wheeler trail, and continues on other trails on Peak 9 as well.  However, you can save the exploring for another day, as you don't have to go very far to have lots of scenic options to walk and choose from.

Don't expect to have the trails to yourself right here, but photos can be focused to show only certain parts of the overall scene.    There are lots of logs, rocks and open spots near the stream to allow for a fantastic photo session.

As you look back, you can see the tent at the Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center, while the Quiksilver lift overhead sits quietly waiting to transport eager skiers and riders to the learning slopes on Peak 9.

We would classify this trail as a moderate to advanced, due to the sometimes steep sections and rock gardens that line the trail.  It's not completely flat, and therefore you won't want to hike very far in your formal wedding wear, but would be a great place to return with the family and kids for everyone to enjoy.

Dina points out the creek that makes for a great backdrop here.  A nice wooden bridge makes a nice stable, rock-free place to stand in heels too!  They're hard to see, but Dina's sporting the new barefoot-type shoe, but it's a ballet-style shoe.  She's been working in them, hiking in them, and has done a few trail runs in them.  Is there a barefoot shoe bride out there?  If so, we want pics!

Looking west, just before you enter the trailhead, you can the bowl on Peak 8 in the distance.  The Coppertop and Imperial Ballroom at the Beaver Run Resort have slope-side ceremony, reception, and lodging options.
